  4. Did you ever notice that managers and supervisors and bosses faces look a certain way? This includes “professional people”. If you work in a warehouse or fast food doing the labor you will have a certain type of face. The labor force face looks rough, no lawyer hair, nowhere close to being a TV personality aka Pretty Boy. Do you know any redneck managers?

I don’t stand against tolerance, but I won’t refrain from taking HR Kool-Aid and unbullshitting it for people.

A big problem with H-1B is that it is NOT a path to US citizenship. As the visas expire, the workers leave and take the industries with them. H-1B is pro-shareholder and anti-public. It has a very negative disparate impact on American engineers.

To know more about this, listen to Lou Dobbs on Youtube.

you sir, are a bigot. do you know how much trouble companies have to go through to make H-1B hires? how many legal and financial hurdles they need to pass through in order to fire a foreign citizens? There are a lot of large corporations out there who expressly state that unless a job applicant has work authorization, they will not be considered.

There is one and only one reason why HR managers are “embracing diversity” in America today.

It is because their bosses make a lot of money by flying in foreign temporary workers to substitute American labor, and their jobs would be easier if American employees did not feel so rubbed about it.

I’m talking about engineers, not landscape employees.

The H-1B visa program is proof of how far the government will go to ruin an undeserving group of citizens in exchange for money.

  14. Human Resources is a great industry for people who want to help people and serve them but don’t want to go into medicine or teaching. HR keeps companies well stocked with good employees and good employees happy in their jobs.

  16. HR is a GREAT place to go if you’re not really bright enough/motivated enough to pursue a business degree, but want to wield more power than you’re qualified for. This is similar to a dullard, fat, small-town cop who got picked on for being chubby in high school but now has the power to make other people’s lives unpleasant. Companies that allow HR people ot rise into top management have a HORRIBLE long-term track record and their stock can be shorted with predictably profitable results.

Human Resources and Recruiting is a pathetic profession (not really a profession) which does not accomplish anything, and GIVES nothing to the world except for bigotry.

  40. some people have no idea really firstly the idea was not introduced by americans it started really from the post war years as if you like welfare based!it and personell management are very similar the only real difference would be (HR)is both strategic and proactive ,as(PM)is more traditional and routine making it reactive,we dont make the major decisions it come from higher authority i admit the WORKFORCE dont always get the best deal ideally, they get the best deal that is possible presently!

  41. GormLesz on Tue, 8th Nov 2011 11:43 pm
  42. HR people have 4 strategic competencies: talking behind people’s backs, arranging to pay people as little as possible, getting people to work as hard as possible, and (despite previous 3) keeping people in the organistion. That is actually what they do.
